Painful Blue by ChristinZakh Painful Blue by ChristinZakh
"I would have walked to the clouds, if there had been a road".

This is an illustration to the second part of my novel. I was describing a moment, when, my character is lying wounded on the ground in the middle of the battle, too exhausted to keep on fighting. And at this very moment he sees northing but the clouds, so painfully beautiful and so far from him.
And I couldn't simply get rid of this image of the clouds passing before his eyes.

Hey I just want to say that your art is really realistic and I adore your portraits/ head paintings !
I think it is rather unlikely that the veins in this picture would show like that if the hand is held up, thought. Unless the person has a serious blood pressure problem ;) Astonishing lighting !

:DD Damn! You are so right about the veins! I didn't think about it. I just wanted to draw veins and that's it! Thank you for noticing. I will be accurate next time! And thank you for you kind words! ^_^

I really like the balance of sharpness and blur. The light on the hand is also great. I can't stop starring at these beautiful veins.

After I read your description I understood the shaky cam/blur effect. It's his eyes out of focus and his hand straining, shaking as he tries to touch the sky. That's a pretty amazing rendition of a wounded soldier. For many, it's the last thing they see. It's painfully beautiful.
